TURKEY TACO RECIPE
For my 30th birthday, my husband surprised me with a truly enchanting getaway to the mesmerizing Banyan Tree Mayakoba in Mexico. Immersed in the breathtaking beauty of the destination, we experienced moments that will forever hold a special place in our hearts. Upon returning home, I found myself yearning for the vibrant culinary flavors that delighted our palates during our time in Mexico. In an attempt to relive those cherished moments, I decided to create a taco recipe that captures the essence of Mexican cuisine. To my family's delight, it has become a frequent star on our menu.
Ingredients
1 green pepper
1 onion
1 lb. of lean ground turkey
Green salsa
Crushed tomatoes
Taco seasoning
Mr. Tortilla (taco shells)
Chopped tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, jalapeños, and lime
Cashew queso from Siete Foods (optional)
Ingredients
Begin by sautéing the onion and green pepper in olive oil spray until they become tender and fragrant.
Add the lean ground turkey to the pan and let it cook for a little while, allowing the flavors to meld together.
Incorporate salsa, crushed tomatoes, and taco seasoning into the pan, continuing to cook the mixture until it reaches a delightful blend of flavors.
Assemble your turkey tacos by spooning the cooked turkey mixture into Mr. Tortilla taco shells.
Top your tacos with a medley of freshly chopped tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, and jalapeños. Squeeze some fresh lime juice over the top to add a vibrant zing to each bite.
For an extra touch of indulgence, consider adding a dollop of cashew queso from Siete Foods. This creamy and dairy-free cheese sauce elevates the tacos to new heights of deliciousness.
